WAITARA NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Constable Lapouple yesterday arrested a man named Bailey on a charge of stealing some clothing from the Club Hotel. The Waitara Dairy Company's annual meeting takes place to-day. t The usual monthly meeting of the Borough Council will be held to-night. The North Taranaki Dairy Company's annual meeting was held yesterday, Mr. Elliot presiding. The balance-sheet, showing a balance of £ 1057 3s 5d for distribution, was adopted. The milk received totalled over six million pounds, an increase of more than a million and a half over the previous year. The butter produced was 235,9391b, an increase of 115,1191b. It required 21.201b of milk to make a pound of butter, and the average test was 4.056. The retiring directors, Messrs. W. Old and IP. Spurr, were re-elected. The Waitara and North Taranaki Dairy companies will have in two days distributed over £2300 in bonuses.
