LOAN AUTHORISED. By Telegraph.--Press Association. * Eltham ,Last Night. A poll was taken of ratepayers to-day re the proposal to raise a loan of £GOOO to build a Town Hall, municipal offices, and a public library. The poll resulted in a big majority. WANGANUI FREEZING COMPANY. Wellington, Last Night. The annual meeting of the Wanganui Meat Freezing Company was held today. The report disclosed that the year had been very successful, the profits being over £12,000. This allowed for the repayment of £OOOO lost last year, and the declaration of a 5 per cent, dividend, in addition to a considerable sum being placed to the repairs and maintenance account. The company is now making additions to the works, which will give storage for 15,000 extra carcases of mutton. Messrs. Silk and Hall were elected auditors.
