PIANO PLAYING. Mr. J. S. Stirton commenced his feat of physical endurance last night in piano playing at the Theatre Royal in connection with the Biograph Pictures. At 10.30 the committee appointed assembled on the stage and Mr. Stirton took his seat at the piano, opening with 1 the National Anthem, and following on with "We won't go home till morning, and thereafter going through his long repertoire of memorised music. The present record is (39% hours. Mr. Stir-1 ton proposes to make this 70 hours. The' piano being used is a Haake lent foi the occasion by Mr. Hoffman.

VALDARES ENTERTAINERS. j There are bicycle acts, and bicycle acts, but one of the best of the world will be seen at the Theatre Royal on Friday and Saturday, when the famous "Valdares" will appear in conjunction with the above powerful combination. These talented performers have an act that is somewhat different to the ordinary run of turns of this kind, and" one that pleases everybody, with the expert work of the ladies, and the. unrivalled comedy of the male member of the quartette. In these days of competition there is little use m placing; any worn-out or old-fashioned turns on the vaudeville stage. The Valdares have taken the lesson to heart, and have secured to assist them some of the best specialities at present to be found in the colonies. "Reggiardo," Fred Foley, ■ "Zanomi," Diamond Heart;" the Vorno ' Sisters and Jnmes Titus are "The' Melba's" nnrl "Caruso's" of the vaude- ( ville houses throughout the entire world.
