DISTRICT NEWS.
POHOKURA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The P.W.D. are pushing on with the railway works, the rails being laid near the Whanga. tunnel. The fencing of the line is complete to the Poliokura station yards. They are also pushing on with the balasting. It is reported that the Polickura section will be handed over to the Railway Department at Christmas. • Mr. J. Robson is just on the point of starting operations at his sawmill here, he having erected an up-to-date mill. We all welcome Mr. Robson and his mill in the district, and it will be a great iboon to the place. Messrs McCluggage Bros, have remored their igeneral store from Reporua to here, which is a great convenience to the' settlers. The rainfall has been considerable lately, and the roads are in a very bad state, the mail carrier having to pack the mails from Te Wera to Tahora.
