The Vorwarts states that British and Germans are working feverishly on models of a Monitor cruiser intended for the destruction of Dreadnoughts. The cruisers will have, a length of 280 ft., a beam of 4ti ft., and' a draught of 20 ft., but above the water-line only five feet. The armament will consist of two 1G.7 guns, which will throw a projectile weighing 6940 pounds. There will be a single turret amidships, turning in all directions. The normal speed is to be 19 knot*, and the forced-draught speed 27 knots, driven by four motors, each of 0000 horse power. The cost of the Monitors will be considerably less than the Dreadnoughts, and it is claimed they will be invulnerable by 12-inch fire.
