PERSONAL.
Captain T. S. Weston, of the Turakina, is visiting New Plymouth. Dr. Valintine, Inspector-General of j Hospitals, was in New Plymouth yesterday. Mr. A. EL Glasgow returned to New Plymouth yesterday from a trip to Auckland and Rotorua. Captain Hugo, Inspector of Fire Brigades under the Fire Boards Act, will visit New Plymouth to-morrow. Messrs. J. C. Morey, jun., and G. Ramson are passengers to Auckland by the Makura, which arrived yesterday at Brisbane. Mr. C. E. Arnold-Jones, and Mr. W. F. McCallum were amongst the passengers per s.s 1 . Rarawa last aright for Auckland. Mr. C. IT. Anderson left last night for Auckland, en route to Rotorua, where lie will take a month's rest. It is probable that lie will leave in a month or two for the Old Country. A Press Association cable from London states that the King has invested Lord Plnnket. ox-Hovornor of Now Zealand. with the order of the Grand Cross of St. Michael and St. George. _
