Received September 4, 5.30 p.m. Hobart, September 4. The Australasian ten miles Cross Country Championship was won by New South Wales. Wood, of Sydney, won the Individual Championship in 60min l'osec. Victoria and Tasmania also competed. FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT. R-eceivedi September 5, 12.30 a.m. Adelaide, September 4. A train collided with a trolley. The driver of the latter was killed and the train driver seriously injured. [The railway line runs from Port Adelaide to the city through busy streets. The line to Glenelg traverses King William street, the main thoroughfare of the ciiy.]
ANOTHER BOXING FATALITY. Received September 5. 12.30 a.m. Melbourne, September 4. A boxing contest took place at Ballart between Rogers, of Melbourne, and Copperwaite, a local man. In the nineteenth round Rogers was sent heavily to the floor, and was removed to the hospital, where he died without recovering consciousness.
