SHIP BURNT AND FOUNDERED
MANY CASTAWAYS. By Cable —Press Received September 5,12.30 a.m. London, September 4. A wireless message from the liner Devonian states that the freight ship Westpoint, from Charleston to Glasgow, burned and foundered on the Grand Bank, Newfoundland. The Devonian picked up a boat containing sixteen. A boat with twelve people aboard is missing.
