MOTUROA OIL BORES

ANOTHER WELL FLOWING. THIRTY BARRELS A DAY. The manager of the Taranaki Petroleum Company reported last night that No. 3 well had been very active throughout the day, and as the day advanced the flow of oil increased. While the casing is being inserted id is impossible, of course, to secure all the oil that comes away, but when the casing is all in, and the pipe connected with the tanju— work which was to be undertaken last night—all of it will be saved. ' There was a splendid flow of oil shortly after six o'clock last night, Mr. Keith estimating the flow at the rate of about 30 barrels a day. Had a tenth of this quantity of on flowed from a well two years ago, New Plymouth would have been almost in a fever. Nowadays the people are taking the success of the prospecting operations quite as a matter of course. With two ' wells flowing oil—one at 20 barrels and the other at 30 barrels daily—there is . season to say that the prospect of the oil industry in New Zealand was never brighter.
