Sailed, Southern j Cross, for Auckland. THE PBTONE. i , The Petone left Greymouth for New Plymouth on Thursday night, and was expected to arrive at a late hour last night. Discharging operations will be proceeded with this morning. THE CORINNA. The Corinna, from southern ports, is expected here to-morrow. She will bring between 000 and 700 tons of cargo, which will foe discharged on Monday. A Wellington critic remarks in an exchange that much surprise has been expressed in shipping circles that the vessels of the new Transport line of steamers now starting out upon the waters are not fitted with refrigerating machinery. So far there is very little available information concerning these steamers, of which the first is expected in New Zealand waters this month. It is announced that the Aorangi.will inaugurate the new Francisco service on the l»th October. She will leave Wellington on that date, and proceed to Auckland, sailing from the northern port on the 22nd. The second boat—the Maitai—is fixed to leave Wellington on the 16th November.
