Martial law and the suspension of the constitution have been proclaimed in the Bilbao province, owing to reports that the strike is about to assume a revolutionary character. THE STRIKE ABOUT A GANGER. Received September 3, 12.30 a.m. Adelaide, September 2. The strike is spreading to the balance of the men employed on the railway construction work and also to the employees in the Government quarry, who came out to-day, making 400 idle. The Laborers' Union leaders state that if a settlement is not reached by Monday it is likely the repairers along the railways in the country willjoin. The Premier has left for a visit to i3ie far north.
