GOLF.

MANAWATU TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmei'ston N., Last Night. The Manawatu annual golf tournament was finished to-day in fine but windy weather. In the semi-finals for the championship, Kurepo Tareha (Hawke's Bay) beat Bevan, the Otaki champion, by 6 up and 5. Imlay Saunders, the Wanganui champion, beat 0. H. Druce (Manawatu) by 2 up. The final proved a good game for the out journey, after which the ex-New Zealand champion simply "lost" the Wanganuite, Kurepo winning in 5 and 3. In the four-ball match, P. McHardy and L. A. Abraham did the round in 89—12—77.

There is every prospeot of excellent play and a big gathering for the ladies' meeting, at which the New Zealand champion and runner-up and nearly all tho provincial champions will compete.
