MAIL NOTICES
NEW PLYMOUTH. Mails will close (subject to alteration) at the Chief Post Office, New Plymouth, aa follows: For Wellington and South, also for Auckland and North, daily, per Mail at 6.15 a.m. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3. For Australian States, via Auckland, at 6.15 a.m. iPOST OFFICE RECEIVING BOXES. On and after September 1, the following alterations and additions will be made in the clearances of the Post Office receiving boxes in the town. All early morning clearances (except those at Chief Post Office) will be made at 5 o'clock. Additional clearances will be made at noon and 6 p.m. at the Devon and Gover street pillar-box. The afternoon clearance of the Devon and Brougham streets box will be extended to 3.30 p.m.. Additional 2.30 p.m. clearances will be made at the Carringtoft Road Junction box, and at the Daweon street box (opposite Hospital gat*). Additional receiving boxes are to be erected at the corner of Liardet and Devon, streets, and at the corner of St. Aubyn and Weymouth streets.
The Chief Post Office clearances re main unaltered.
Late fee letters for South may be posted in the mail van of outward express, and in the guard's van of other passenger trains, up to time of departure. Late-fee letters for Auckland and North may be posted in the late-fee receiving box at the Chief Post Office up to 7.30 on Auckland mail nights, and in the latefee box at the railway station up to arrival of inward express.
