RIFLE SHOOTING.
MANGOREI RIFLE CLUB. The seventh competition for Mr. Grayling's medal was fired on the local range on Thursday last. Appended are the
OKATO v. RAHOTU. On Saturday last tlie Okato Club fired a return match with the Rahotu Club at Rahotu. The conditions were extremely unfavorable, and the Okato Club mustered eleven men only, instead of fifteen as arranged. It was arranged that Rahotu should count their eleven best scores. The result was a victory for the home club by 37 points. Rifleman Tylee, a young shot, headed the list with G6, while Rifleman Goodin secured the possible at 500 yards. Results:—
Next Saturday the Okato Club are firing a match, Married v. jingle. As the teams are evenly matched, a good shoot ia expected.
