The annual meeting of the New Zealand Fanners' Dairy Union was held today. . | The chairman quoted figures to show that the Union would soon have paid off all the money borrowed since 1806.' The output had been more than trebled, while the interest and working expenses j had only increased by about 25 per cent.' Suppliers received 10 l /nd for their /butter for the season, the highest yet paid by the Union, which had increased the production this year by 134 tons of butter and llfi tons of cheese. Pasteurisers had been installed to enablt them to produce better calves, and less disease in pigs. The Dominion produce disposal should be placed in the hands of a few good firms, who could regulate the prices. He favoured a commissioner as in Denmark, to regulate local sales according to the supply and demand. The prospects for the season had never before been so good. A 25 per cent, dividend was declared, <and a balance carried forward.
