CRIPPEN AND LE NEVE
APPEAR AT BOW STREET. By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright London, Augjust 29. When Crippen and Le Neve appeared' at Bow Street Magistrate's Court, In- j Bpector Drew stated that a card found on Crippen bore in writing, "I cannot Btand every night's horror. As there is nothing bright ahead and the journey | is ending. I will jump overboard tonight. I have spoiled my life. Some day yo'i may learn to forgive me." A second card in the same writing astoed, "Sliall we wait till eleven tonight ■?" Inspector Drew stated that when Crippen was arrested', he said lie was not sorry, as the anxiety had been too much. Drew said', "As you have written, you intended to jump overboard, I must fasten the handcuffs." Crippen replied, "I won't do that. My anxiety has been too awful. Crippen added, "It is only fair to say Le Neve knows nothing about it." Le Neve assured witness she knew nothing of the murder. The hearing was adjourned. Received August 30, 9.30 p.m. London, August 30. Inspector Drew believes that the cards are in Crippen's hand-writing.
