CARGO BROACHERS
SALUTARY SENTENCES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Monday. Salutary sentences were passed on the Kia Ora seamen for broaching and stealing cargo during the voyage from London to Dunedin. John W. Mills (boatswain) was ordered to forfeit £4, the amount stolen, and sentenced to one month's imprisonment; J. H. Barter (fourth officer) was ordered to forfeit out of his wages £3 and sentenced to nine months' imprisonment, with hard labor; E. F. Guest and A. E. Kerrick (seamen) were ordered to forfeit £32 and were sentenced to six months' hard labor.
