BOATING FATALITY
THREE B'ROTHERS DROWNED. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received August 29, 12.30 a,m. I Melbourne, Last Night. ■■ A boating fatality occurred in Hob-' son's Bay. Three brothers Ritter, aged twenty-seven, fourteen and ten respectively, were drowned while fishing in a ten-foot dinghy. They were accompanied by a. man named Motteran, aged twenty-four. A stiff ibreeze sprang up and they (became alarmed and tried' to run for shelter under a spread of canvas, which, however, was too great. The boat was driven under the water in sight 'of the people on the pier and floated keel up. The four scrambled on to the bottom. A lifeboat and a motor boat hastened to their assistance, ibut the three brothers were washed off and drowned. Motteran was rescued in an exhausted condition, and is in a bad way. The boat was appropriately named "The Venture."
