SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. Following is Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast:-There was a heavy fell of snow in the South Island last night, and a southerly gale reached Wellington at 5 ajn., when the lowest pressure of the barometer , 28-95 inches, was recorded. The present indications are for cold and st6rmy weather generally, rain in most parts, and snow on higher levels. The barometer will probaWy rise very high in the next two days, and strong southerly- winds prevail everywhere. '
