FIRE AT MOLYNEUX MINE.

DESTRUCTION OF PLANT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ' Dunedin, Last Night. Shortly 'before 3 o'clock this morning j a fire occurred at the Molvneux coal mine, by which the engine and boiler rooms were completely destroyed. The origin of the fire is unknown. The fires in the boiler house were banked at midnight, when the men engaged in dumping left the mine. The fire was discovered by the night shift on one of the dredges working near by. A ibncket brigade saved the remaining buildings and poppet heads from destruction. The property had only been taken over by a working party about twelve months ago, but they expect to be able to resume work at the mine at the beginning of next week. There are insurances on the building, but the amounts are not available. In July 1006 a great fire occurred in this mine, when four men were enI tombed, but were safely rescued.
