SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are as follow: —The barometer has fallen everywhere, and northerly and -westerly winds, strong to, gale, have prevailed, with increasiflgpplfcudiness and rain in parts, especially on the West Coast of the South Island, where the rivers are now high, and'the seas rough. Present indications ftre. for a further fall in the barometer" in the north for a shoirt time, but a rise is due in the south. High northerly winds; veering to westerly, are probable in the far north, but westerlies, veering to a southerly gale, probable elsewhere. Rain is probable generally, and snow on higher levels in the south.
