LADY ISLINGTON.
i HEARTY WELCOME TO THE j DOMINION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. Lady Islington, wife of His Excellency the Governor, and her young daughter, the Hon, Joan Dickson-Poyn-der, received a hearty welcome on arriving at the Queen's Wharf by the Turakina' this morning. His Excellency went on board whqn the steamer moored and accompanied Lady Islington and their daughter, both of whom were in mourning, ashore. When they landed at 9 o'clock the Permanent Artillery and boys from, the training ship Amokura formed a guard of honour and the carriages containing the members of the vice-regal party .passed between rows of school girls. On their way up the wharf Lord and Lady Islington arid the Hon. Joan were heartily cheered, and a beautiful bouquet was presented to Her Excellency by the school girls before she left the steamer. The Prime Minister a'nd other members of the Cabinet and their wives took part in the reception. Lady Islington and her daughter thoroughly enjoyed the trip out and arrived in capital health.
