LAND TAXATION.
, . INTRICATE NOTICES, | By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright London, August 23. The intricacy of ttbe land valuation notices, necessary consequent on ;th« imposition of the increment value duty, ■the reversion duty, the undeveloped land duty, and the mineral rights duty, has, aroused general protests. In the case' of some estates eight hundred forms are necessary. The penalty is £SO for each form unless returned within a month. The Times rejects the suggestion of passive resistance by two millioiiaire/property owners, and advises that an honest attempt be made to fill in the forms. It is probaWe the Inland Revenue Department will be unable to cope with the immense, amount of detail involved. Captain Pretyman, : a Conservative - member of Parliament, declares that if, despite difficulties, the .forms are correctly filled in, the information acquired will soon be obsolete and worthless.
