PALMERSTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Pahnerston North, Tuesday. At the Supreme Court, Thomas O'Connor, charged with tile theit of I .mibbit skins at Tailiape, was acquitted, His Honour stating that the prosecution had no case. WELLINGTON SESSIONS. Wellington, Tuesday. tAt the Supreme Coupt to-day, George Johns, for assault and causiog actual bodily harm at Westport, on' two charges, was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment on each, to be cumulative. Charles Brooks, on two charges of theft at Renwicktown, was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment on each, to be concurrent. Accused was already on probation for theft, and will nerve the latter period when Released from the Invercargill reformatory gaol. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, William a middle-aged man, charged with indecent exposure, was found guilty.
AUCKLAND SESSIONS.
iAjuckla,nd, Last Night. The criminal session of the Supreme . Court was continued to-day. Arthur Wm.vLudgreen admitted several offences of false pretences and theft, and waa remanded for sentence till Saturday. John Munro Wrack entered a plea of guilty to a charge of committing an in- * decent assault on a girl of sixteen years at Kamo,' Whangarei. Mr. Reed, who. appeared; on behalf of the prisoner, said he was a weakling, suffering from physical defect. He was of respectable parentage, and so far had borne a good character. He was remanded for sentence. John James Eoss was charged t with the theft of two iron pipes and two iron columns, the property of J. A. • H Moody. The jury, after a short retire., ment, returned with a verdict of guilty on both charges, and prisoner was remanded for sentence.

BLACKMAIL.
Auckland, .Monday.
In a case heard in the Supreme Court, in which a young man was charged with a sexual offence, it was stated tnw he was a victim to personal weakness. He had: been in communication with "quacks" in Australia who professed to cure such diseases. The correspondence waß banded to the, Chief Justice, who, after perusing it, remarked that the letter contained a deliberate attempt to blackmail the young fellow. He suggested that it should be forwarded to the Commissioner of Police at Sydney. Accused's counsel stated that £lB had been extracted from the young man.
