Fenwick, M.P., speaking at a miners' demonstration at Tynemouth, said that the great danger to trades unionism was the grave spirit of insubordination. If the men had no confidence in their officers, the sooner the latter were dismissed the better. Unlessi this rowdyism wias to be snubbed immediately the iNtorthumberland miners would; experience the greatest social wreck in modem times.
