ay „ana-,/ij> Auckland, Last Night. Ihe Wlimanga correspondent or ihe Herald telegraphs that a fatal .-xt'idcnt jfc Stoney Creek bush yesterday afternoon. A man named Edward Larkins, working for Mr. Geo. Wallace, contractor, was looking after some kauri logs, preparatory to their being shifted by a steam log-hauler. When in the act of removing a boulder that was obstructing the progress of one of the logs, the grips flew out, striking.him on the side of the head and fracturing the base of the skull. He was carried to Tairua by his mates and brought to ihe Mercury Bav hospital by motor launch, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission.
