A DELICIOUS RECIPE. Currant Tea Cake.—Cream-one fourth I of a cupful of butter, and add gradually while beating constantly one-third of a cupful of sugar; then add one egg well beaten. Mix and sift two and one-third cupfuls of flour, one half of salt, and four teaspoonfuls of baking powder. Add to first mixture alternately 'with one cupful of milk, then stir in two-thirds of a cupful of fresh currants mixed with one-third of a cupful of flour. Bake in (buttered individual tins in a moderate oven. This tea cake is very delicious, and should be served with one or other of the standard brands of teas of the Empire Tea Company The "Dragon" Brand at 2s 8d is a rich fragrant brand, with plenty of body, and is particularly suitable for afternoon teas. It is the highest grade tea on the market. The "Elephant" Brand, at 2s per lb., possesses a very pleasing flavor, and is a fine, strong, blended tea. The "New Crescent" Brand, at 2s per lb., is one of the best teas on the market. It is rich, strong and fragrant. It possesses a conspicuous flavor, and is fast becoming the universal favorite. The "Crescent" Brand, at Is lOd per lb., is another tea of great merit. It brews a strong, tawny liquor, and leaves the palate most agreeably. It is a tea, that will please most people. The "Mikado Brand!, at Is 6d per lb., though cheap m price is not cheap in quality. It is a good'family tea, -with a distinct flavor. The Empire Tea Company's Teas can be . obtained from all grocers. t.c. Those who have used it for years and are in a position to know its real value assert that it is without an equal for the treatment of these diseases. It not only cures colds and influenza, but counteracts any tendency towards pneumonia. It is in almost universal use as a preventive and cure for croup and has never been known to fail.
