CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FUND. Py Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Wellington, 'Last Night. The Wharf Labourers' Union to-night voted £SO to the Mayoress' fund for the erection of a children's hospital. The total subscriptions are now about £6OOO. A COUNCILLOR RESIGNS. Wellington, Last Night. Councillor T. Ballanger has written to the Mayor announcing his intention to resign on September 22, the Council having declined to accept a tender from his firm, Thomas Ballinger & Co., Ltd. The action of the Council was in accordance with the resolution recently adopted by the Council in reference to the disqualification of councillors section of the Municipal Corporations Act.
