INGLEWOOD NEWS
(From Our Own Correspondent.)! •Messrs. W. A. Coliis and W. C. Weston canvassed Inglewood on Monday afternoon for subscriptions towards thefund for erecting a new tourist' accommodation house on Mount Egmont. The ordinary monthly meeting ol the Moa Dairy Company's directors was Held on Monday, when Mr. D. Herliby occupied the chair. Mr. Ilachurski gave notice to move that in future the annual meetings of the company be open to shareholders only. Several butter buyers are already in the district and some of tivem waited on the directors during the meeting; The Tariki (cheese) Dairy Company paid out a substantial bonus this month, which proved very acceptable to both suppliers and storekeepers. A pleasant function took place in the Druids' Hall on Tuesday, when about 60 persons assembled at the invitation of Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Spurdle, to celebrate the coming of age of their daughter, Miss Myrtle Spurdle. Mt. T. & Hammerton was entrusted with the toast of the evening and made a Tory neat speech. The toast was received with acclamation. Vocal items were given.
