' The Ministry of Agriculture estimate the wheat crop of_ the world as follows:—Britain 1,700,000 metric tons' (a metric ton is 1000 kilograms or 2204 lb.), 1 Austro Hungary 6,900,000, France 7,800,000, Italy and Germany each 4,000,000, , United States L 7,500.000, Canada 2,850,fiOO, Argentine 4,200,000, Australasia 2,100,000, Persia 18,500,000, Asia 11,700,- ; OOQ. • The estimate from all centres is ' 93,700,000 tons, compared with 86,500,000 | tons l last year.
