The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,435,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1.435,000 quarer». Atlantic shipments t& Europe are 1,050,000 quarters, including Argentine 115,000 quarters, Russian,34o,ooo quarters, Danubian 143,00 quarters, Australasian 37,000 quarters.
HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. Following is the High Commissioner's report under date London, August 13: Mutton—There is no material change in the market. The stock on hand is moderate, and there is a scarcity of prime quality. Average price to-day, Canterbury 3%d, North Island 3%d. Lamb—The market is firm, and, notwithstanding large receipts, the output is satisfactory. The demand is cmefly for light weights, and heavies are difficult to sell. There i» no change in prices.
Beef—The market shows signs of weakness. Sellers have taken advantage of a small supply of chilled New .Zealand beef being pushed for sale. New .Zealand hinds are 3%d,fores 2%d. 1 Butter—The market is steady iind lair business is doing. Danish 114s (some of quality not satisfactory), Siberian 101s. j
Cheese—The .market is firm owing to reduced supplies, and fair demand continues. White 57s fid, coloured 50s (sd. Canadian white 545, coloured 555. Hemp—The market is quiet and small business doing. New Zealand good fair per ton £24, /air grade £2l ss, fair current Manila' £l9 10s. Forward shipments New Zealand good fair £'23 15s, fair £2l, fair current Manila £2O. The output of Manila for the week was 23,000 bales. Cocksfoot Seed—The market is steady, and there is a good demand for New Zealand seed at U4s 6d, 171b per bushel. Forward shipments—Buyers are not keen to do business.
Wheat—The market is steady, and fair business is doing on spot. There is no change in price. - Oats—The market is steady at last quotations. Beans—The market is steady at i tst quotations. Peas—The 1 market •is dull and supplies are large. Wool—The market is firm with a hardening tendency.
