There is an exciting struggle for the' £IOOO prize offered by the Daily Mail lor the longest aggregate flights across country for the year ending at midnight to-dav. On Friday Paailtan's record was 480 miles, and Grah.v.-;-White's 443 miles. Grahame-W'hite aided 160 miles yesterday, and Paulhan ovejr.-200. miles. WON BY PAULHAN. Received' August 15, 9.30 p.m.' London, August 15. The result of the £IOOO prize was:— Paulhan 855 miles, Grahame-White 842. Both flew throughout yesterday—White at Blackpool, and Paulhan at Chartries. MANUFACTURE OF AEROPLANES. Paris, August 14. It is estimated that 800 aeroplanes were built in France last year at a cost of £409,000. JERKED FROM A PARACHUTE.
•New York, August 14. Benjamin Prince, at Ashbury Park, while dropping 3000 feet, was jerked from his parachute and killed.
