INGLEWOOD NEWS
(Fron Our Own Correspondent.) On Monday evening in the band-room, Mr. W. Martin, who is leaving the district, received a handsome present from the members of the local volunteers and band. Mr. Taplee made the presentation and praised Mr. Martin's services to the band. Mr. 0. J. Priest responded on behalf of Mr. Martin.
Mr. P. W. Whitehead, who for some time past has been in business in Inglewood, is leaving for Auckland, Mr. Whitehead has been connected with the School Committee and School Association for some time past. A concert by the Inglewood and New Plymouth dramatic societies, in aid of the Jnglewood Town Band, is exciting considerable local interest. The Inglewood company will stage "Ici on parle Francais/' which received such an ovation here a short time back, while the Nw Plymouth company will put on "Browne with an 'EV The roads are showing a marked improvement under the spell of fine weather. -.,.,«<«»ws*r-"«- ■ -.
