MARAUDERS IN FRANCE
A DESPERATE ENCOUNTER. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Received August 12, 10 p.m. Paris, August 12. Maurauders endeavoured to force the entrance of a powder magazine at Vergerouy, and wounded the sentry guard, who, ran for assistance and fired at the men, who fled,, "The guards' volley accidentally killed a sentry.
The maurauders were overtaken at OueUons, near Lyons. One shot a policeman with a revolver. The crowd pursued the murderer, who fired thrice, wounding one of the pursuers. Finally a policeman shot him in the leg. The murderer committed suicide. The others escaped.
