LOOKING PACIFIC-WARDS

THE UNITED STATES AND J.. . - - By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received August 11, 9:20 p.m. London, August 11. Sir Geo. Reid, interviewed, stated that the Commonwealth was wirelessly linking! British possessions in the Pacific. It was not long since the Pacific seemed outside the range of national disturbance, but the United States, which previously locked Atlantic-wards, was now steadily looking Pacific-wards. In imagination, he pictured the Pacific's future, which dominated the influences of the United States and Australia. The latter were united in much closer ties than at first seemed possible.
