P., had been asked to voiee the Association's desire for exemption of bowling clubs from the payment of rates. Members of the council as ft whole expressed themselves as strongly opposed to any such exemption, and ft was decided to notify the Prime Minister accordingly. The secretary of the Northern Bow* ing Association wrote asking if it* stamp would be recognised by the New Zealand Bowlirig Association. It was decided to reply that only the 1901 stamp of the New Zealand Bowling Association could be recognised.
