THE PROPOSED CABLE. (Received August 10. 12.30 a.m. Sydney, August 9. The chairman of the Pacific Cable Board states that he cannot give any details of the Australia-New Zealand cable mentioned in the cables. He has no knowledge of any intention to duplicate the existing Pacific cable, but assumes it refers to the Board's proposal to lay a cable from Sydney to New Zealand.
