SUDDEN DEATH.
MRS. MASTERS, OF STRATFORD. ! Mrs. J. Masters, wife of Mr. J. Masters, Mayor of Stratford, died suddenly yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Masters had been unwell for several months, but recently her health materially improved, and after a week's holiday at New Plymouth, returned home perfectly well. Yesterday afternoon she paid a visit to Mrs. J. Petrie, and in the course of a conversation, remarked how well she felt. Mrs. Petrie asked her to partake of a cup of tea, Mrs. Masters accepted ,the invitation, and was bending forward to take the cup when she fell forward. Mrs. Petrie immediately sent for Dr. McKnight, who on his arrival pronounced life extinct. Deceased leaves a husband, and family of four bobs and three daughters, the youngest of whom is nine years old, to mourn their loss, and to whom the sympathy of the residents of the town and many friends in other parts of the district will be extended.—Stratford ©correspondent.
