THE STRIKE AT PAPAROA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Greymouth, Last Night. No new developments have taken place at Paparoa, and the mine is still idle. The manager has not heard from the men for the past two days. Over 100 men are idle. WEST COAST HARBORS. Greymouth, Last Night. Messrs. Holmes and Burrell, Government engineers, have been in Greymouth during the week reporting on harbor matters. They visited Hokitika to-day to report on tha£ harbor, and left for home to-day. A MISSING BANKRUPT. Nelson, August 4. At an adjourned meeting of the creditors of William Stanley, a bankrupt soap maker, to-day, the Deputy Assignee reported that the bankrupt and family had disappeared, after the former had received notice to be present at the meeting. At the previous meeting the creditors resolved that bankrupt be publicly examined at the next session of the Supreme Court. The Assignee has now been instructed to take legal advice with a view to immediate proceedings. THE STARVATION CURE. Gore, Last Night. A Gore resident suffering from nervous dyspepsia and catarrh for 25 years fasted 52 days, his only nourishment being one cup of hot milk and water with a little essence of fruit added. His weight was reduced by 161bs, but there were no ill effects except a slight weakness in the legs. The' patient is much better and repeating the experiment. DR. HENRY'S MISSION. Wellington, Thursday. Dr. Henry finished his mission in the Hutt Valley last evening, and received the thanks of the churches for the efforts put forth cm their behalf.
