THE WORLD'S PEACE.
HOW CAN IT BE HASTENED? CONFERENCE OF INTERNATIONAL LAW ASSOCIATION. By Cable.—Press Association,—Copyright Received August 4, 9.5 p.m. London, August 4. Mr. Justice Kennedy, in his presidential' address to 'the International Law Association, now sitting, at the Guildhall, said the world's peace would be •hastened if the institutions most closely affecting human life were universalised and unified. If the law of all civilised I communities were administered on practically identical principles, it would engender a sincere sentiment of solidarity, which would tend to make war impossible. The Conference discussed the desirability of constructing an employers' liability act for cases of old and weekly workmen who were liable to discharge owing to the extra liability their employment entailed. The speakers favorably commented on New Zealand's acts. Mr. Justice Denniston is representing New Zealand at the conference.
