LICENSED VICTUALLERS' STEEPLECHASE HANDICAP (race starts at 1.15 p.m.), for trophies value 15 eovs. First horse to receive trophy value 10 sovs, second horse to receive trophy value 5 sovs (subscribed by the Licensed Victuallers' Association); for qualified hunters the bona fide property of members of a recognised Hunt; horses to be ridden by gentlemen riders; minimum weight list. Nomination 10s, acceptance ss.' About two miles and a distance. 3. OPEN HACK HANDICAP (race starts at 1.45 p.m.), of 10 sovs. A sweepstake of 5s each for starters (payable at scale) to go to second horse. (Vide definition of hacks.) Nomination ss, acceptance ss. Five furlongs. Minimum weight Sst 71b. , 4. LADIES' BRACELET HANDICAP (race starts at 2.30 p.m.), valued at 15 sovs; second horse' to receive 2% sovs from the stakes; for Hunters only. A Handicap Steeplechase for all horses that have never won a steeplechase (hack and hunter races excepted) at time of entry. All horses to be nominated by ladies and ridden by gentlemen riders. About two miles and a-half. 7. HUNTERS' HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (race starts at 4.30 p.m.), of 15 sovs. Second horse 'to receive 2% sovs from the stake*. For Hunters only. Over six flights of hurdles. Minimum weight lOst 71b. Nomination 7s 6d, acceptance 7s Od. One mile and a-half.
Qualification for Hunters.—Races I, 2, 4, %, and 7 are deemed to be f-r horses that have been regularly hunted wi*-h a recognised pack of hounds, and the Jitter's certificate for the season 1910 must be produced at the scales. Gentlemen riders only in races 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7. Emergency riders' licenses may be issued on day of races (fee ss) for these events.
Definition of a Hack.—A hack is a horse which has not at any time prior to time of entry of nomination won a race of the value of 100 sovs to the winner, or races of the aggregate value of 250 s6vs to the winner.
Scratching.—All persons intending to withdraw .horses are required to give notice to' that effect to the Secretary one half-hour 'before the official time for starting the race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding 20 sovs, to the Race Fund.
