"AS MIDNIGHT CHIMES." TO-NiCHT. The company that Mr. George Marlow has sent to New Zeahwd and winch wll appear here for a one night's season this (Wednesday) evening, alter having just concluded a record season in New Zealand, has been credited by the Australian and New Zealand press with bei<n<* one of a general average and high merit, so that the performances nave shown an all round strength. The production to-night wiU be that English, Australian, and New Zealand success "As Midnight Chimes." This drama, after- breaking all records aft over the Commonwealth opened to enormous business in Wellington and ran for oignt consecutive performances to big business. It is said to be a welcome departure lrom the orthodox drama, and therein apparently lies its charm. There is nothing of the lurid nature about the piece, but there are some very striking uramatic situations, all so dleverly worked up that the interest'of the audiences appears to be held intently throughout. The situations are all cleverly worked out, and are aided by fine scenic and other effects. The full metropolitan company, with complete scenery, will appear. The box plan for to-night's performance is at Cdllier's Music Warehouse, >vhile tickets for the back stalls and pit may also be obtained there. Prices are 4s, 2s 6d, and Is. No early doors.
