One mile and a distance. 2..LICENSED VICTUALLERS' STEEPLECHASE HANDICAP (race starts at 1.15 p.m.), for trophies value 15 sovs. First horse-to receive trophy value 10 soys, second horse to receive trophy value 5 sovs (subscribed by the Licensed Victuallers' Association); for qualified hunters the bona fide property of members of a recognised Hunt; horses to be ridden by gentle-, men riders; minimum weight list. Five furlongs. Minimum weight Bst 71b. 4. LADIES' BRACELET HANDICAP (race starts at 2.30 p.m.), valued at 15 sovs; second horse to receive 2% sovs from the stakes; for Hunters only. A Handicap Steeplechase for all horses that 'have never won a steeplechase (hack and hunter races excepted) at time of entry. All noises to be nominated by ladies and ridden by gentlemen riders. Minimum weight list. Winner of Licensed Victuallers' Steeplechase to carry 101b penalty. Nomination 7s 6d, acceptance 7s fld. About two miles. 5. Winners of Licensed Victuallers' Handicap Steeplechase or Ladies' Bracelet carry u penalty of 141b. Nomination 10s, acceptance 10s. About two miles and a-half. 7. HUNTERS' ■ HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (raee starts at 4.30 p.m.), of 15 sovs. Second horse to receive 2'/ 8 sovs from the stakes. For Hunters only. Over six flights of hurdles. Minimum weight lOst 71b. Nomination 7s 6d, acceptance 7 s 6d. One mile and a-half.

Qualification for Hunters.—Race9 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7 are deemed to be for horses that have been regularly hunted with a recognised pack of hounds, and the Master's certificate for the season 1910 must, be produced at the scales. Gentlemen riders only in races 1, 2, 4. 6, and 7. Emergency riders' licenses may be issued on day of races (fee ss) for these events. - Definition of a Hack.—A hack is a horse which has not at f>rv time prior to time of entry of nornim: won a race of the value of 100 so\; 'n the winner, or races of the aggregate value of 250 sovs to the winner. Sera tchings.—All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary one half-hour 'before the official time for starting the race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding 20 sovs, to the Race Fund. Nominations close with the Secretary, Currie Street, New Plymouth, on MONDAY, August 15, at 9 p.m. Weights appear FRIDAY, August 19. Acceptances close WEDNESDAY, August 24. A. L. HUMPHRIES, Hon. Sec.
