WOMAN'S WORLD.

NOTES EROM STRATFORD. .Miss Eileen Myra Baker-Oibbs, of Sydney, who has spent a prolonged holiday in New Zealand, spent the week-end at Stratford, and left by the mail for Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. A. Burgess have returned to Stratford after having spent a very enjoyable holiday in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. P. Plumtree, who havo been on a motoring tour, have returned •to Stratford.

Mrs. Frank [Rhodes gave a very enjoyable children's party for her daughter's, who were home from Wanganui College, also to celebrate little Miss Phyllis' birthday. The wee maiden looked very sweet in a frock of white silk, the skirt made long, with added touches of pale blue. This small guest wore a crown of daisies, which completed a very quaint toilet. Misses Mary and Ella Rhodes have returned to Wanganui; The return ball given by the ladies of Stratford to Dr.jCarbery's two daughters in. the Foresters' Hall on July 23rd was a brilliant function, and was thoroughly enjoyed Iby all those present. Tho Misses Carbery have returned to the Island Bay Convent. .

'Mr. Jones, of the National Bank of New Zealand, leaves for South on Friday next, and will pay a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Jones, of the Union Bank, Rangiora. Miss Storey, A.T.C.L.L.A.8., of Auckland, has return to the Hill-streec convent, where she intends to remain for three months' 'hard study "before leaving for England, where she intends to finish her musical career.

The St. Andrew's Tennis Club, Stratford, have issued invitations for their annual ball, to be held on the 11-th. inst. fho joint secretaries (Miss Brayshaw mul Mr. Wilson) are working energetically to maike this function the event of tho season.
