Bates* summary and forecast are as follow-.^Unsteady_**>'-showery weather has been expenen? in both extremes of the country, v»ah and south, and especially in the /ar north, but fine and cold weather else -where. Present indications are for sbrong south easterly winds northward of, Bast Cape and Kawhia; with squally and showery weather. Moderate southerly ■winds and fair weather .probable ifhence south of Kaikoura and Hokitika, westerly winds, with cool and changeable weather, elsewhere. The barometer will probably fall everywhere after 2£ hours.
