STRATFORD DAY BY DAY.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Saturday JUiglit. We are making up for the mildness of the early part of the winter. Three white frosts have ornamented the ground ia succession, and followed by bright sunny days the weather has been perfect. Residents who have orchards are rejoicing, but those whose fancy turns to llowers are lamenting the check to the growth that the warmth of the previous few weeks had brought on. The death occurred at York Road, Midhir&t, yesterday of Mr. K. Habo-wlski. Deceased, who was 75 years of age, (has been a resident of the district for 23 years. At a meeting of the committee oi the A. and P. Association this afternoon, it was decided to hold the show on Decemer 7 th. and Bth. Mr. S. B Hunter, whose health has been indifferent lately, left for a visit to Te Aroha this morning. As a result of a visit of Stratford members a branch of the Liberal Federation was formed at Midhirst last night. On Thursday evening the residents of Stanley Road presented Mr. and Mrs. Band nip, who are leaving the district to take up their residence in the Waikato, with a tea and coffee service. A farewell social was tendered the Rev. Colville by the parishioners of Holy Trinity Church last night. During the evenlimg, the Rev. Colville was presented with an illuminated address and a travelling rug.
