BRITISH HOTEL VALUES.
EFFECT OF THE BUDGET. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright London, July 29. The Court of Appeal in a assessment ease, upheld the Divisional Court's declaration that the increase of the license under the Budget of 1910 was prima facie evidence of the reduction of the value of a public house. The cost of the license, in this instance, was suddenly raised from £35 to £l3O, equivalent to half the rent. The tenant for assessment purposes is now entitled to deduct the increase of duty from £260, at which the house was formerly rated.
