A return shows that Queen Anne's bounty increases' mimimum church livings, where the parish contains above 800 population, to £2OO sterling per annum. This affects 1490 livings at a cost of £90,823.
'Queen 'Anne's Bounty was established in 1704, to augment poor livings in the Church of England, and to assist clergy, by loans on security of the revenues of benefices, to build, etc. The capital fund, held by the governors in money and stock, amounts to upwards of £7,127,000. The last grants were made in 1907, in respect of 169 livings, the benefactions amounting to £32,249.
