Five furlongs. Minimum weight Bst 71b. 4. LADIES' BRACELET HANDICAP (race starts at 2.30 p.m.), valued at 15 sovs; second horse to receive 2% sovs from the stakes; for Hunters only. A Handicap Steeplechase for all horses that have never won a steeplechase (hack and hunter races excepted) at time of entry. All hoises to be nominated by ladies and ridden by gentlemen riders. Qualification for Hunters.—Races 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7 are deemed to be for horses that have ibecn regularly hunted with a recognised pack of hounds, and the Master's certificate for the' season 1910 must be produced at the scales. Gentlemen riders only in races 1, 2, 4. 6, and 7. Emergency riders' licenses may be issued on day of races (fee ss) for these events. Definition of a Hack. —A hack is a horse which has not at put time prior to time of entry of nomirrtion won a race of the value of 100 so v.- n the winner, or races of the aggregate value of 250 sovs to the winner. . Scratching.—All persons intending to withdraw hoTses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary one half-hour before the official time for starting the race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be "imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding 20 sovs", to the Race Fund. Nominations close with the Secretary, Currie Street, New Plymouth, on MONDAY, August 15, at 9 p.m. Weights appear FRIDAY, August 19. Acceptances close WEDNESDAY, August 24. A. h. 'HUMPHRIES, Hon.
