The Karamea Shipping Company's auxiliary schooner Echo arrived here about 4 p.m. yesterday after a somewhat rough trip up. Her cargo consists of about 4000 sleepers for the Railway Department. Discharging is expected to occugy about a couple of days. The Spreckels line of steamers' may again run to Australia,, says a recen. visitor to the United States. In such an event the company will equip their boats so that they may burn oil fuel in the same manner as the Sierra. The company have no fear about the reliability of the service if again established on those lines. "My personal experience of the Sierra," said' Mr. Bolton, "was that sue kept absolutely perfect time, and that the travelling -was most comfortable."
